The Senior Content Manager will establish Tines as an industry thought leader by developing a high-quality media brand that serves CISOs, IT leaders, and executive decision-makers. This role will oversee long-form thought leadership content, strategic narratives, executive influence programs, and the build-out of Tines’ brand presence via high-quality content.
We are looking for our candidate to be located preferably in Boston, MA or Dublin, Ireland (our dual HQ locations) with intermittent travel between offices and occasional industry conferences. We will also consider candidates in EST states. The role reports into our Director, Communications based in Boston.
Key Responsibilities
1. Build & Scale Tines’ Media Brand
- Develop and execute Tines’ editorial strategy, ensuring content meets the highest quality standards, akin to leading publications such as The Wall Street Journal and The Economist.
- Transform Tines.com into an engaging media hub featuring serialized thought leadership, premium editorial content, industry reports, and high-quality visual/video storytelling.
- Lead the creation of high-impact research reports (e.g., Voice of the SOC, industry trend analyses) by managing ideation, first-party data collection, third-party partnerships, project execution, and distribution in collaboration with the growth marketing team.
- Manage off-site thought leadership properties, including Substack, Medium, YouTube, and executive LinkedIn content.
- Build and maintain a network of industry analysts, freelance writers, and guest contributors to enhance content quality and diversity.
2. Executive, SME, and Customer Thought Leadership
- Establish Tines executives, subject matter experts (SMEs), and customers as industry influencers through strategic visibility programs (social presence, owned content, direct to audience formats like Substack, media placements/speaking opps via partnership with PR).
- Identify key thought leadership topics and tailor distribution strategies for executives and internal experts to maximize reach and impact.
- Collaborate with executives and SMEs to develop, refine, and publish authored content across platforms such as LinkedIn, guest articles, and white papers.
- Work with customer marketing to create customized thought leadership programs for select customers, enhancing their industry presence.
- Partner with demand generation and growth marketing teams on campaigns requiring thought leadership content.
- Lead the development of strategic, business-focused case studies that reinforce Tines’ enterprise storytelling.
- Coordinate with Communications & PR to align executive visibility efforts with media placements, analyst reports, and industry events.
3. Analysis & Reporting
- Continuously optimize content reach and impact by analyzing distribution performance and iterating based on insights.
- Experiment with and assess new content formats and distribution channels, providing data-driven recommendations.
- Deliver regular reports on the effectiveness and impact of the thought leadership program.
- Act as Tines’ internal “educator-in-chief” for content strategy, sharing insights and best practices across the growth marketing team and broader organization.
Qualifications & Skills
- 10-12 years of experience in journalism, editorial leadership, content strategy, or thought leadership development.
- Proven track record of creating high-quality, data-driven content for executive audiences.
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with an ability to distill complex topics into compelling narratives.
- Experience managing editorial programs across multiple formats, including written, visual, and video content.
- Ability to build and nurture relationships with industry analysts, writers, and contributors.
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze content performance and optimize distribution strategies.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity, IT, or enterprise technology industries is a plus
