We’re entering the Spring season, which can mean only one thing - You Did WHAT With Tines?! (YDWWT) Is back! Our bi-annual competition invites Tines builders to submit their most impressive workflows with a chance to win some exciting prizes, including a trip to a very special customer event. Each time we’ve run this competition, we’ve been hugely impressed by what our community has achieved in the world of orchestration and automation, and we’re excited to see what you’ve built.

🪄Tip

Choosing the right workflow

We love seeing the full spectrum of what our community is building with Tines. Got a workflow that saves your team time? Using Tines to bridge gaps between tools? Doing something just for fun? We want to see it all!

All entries must include a title, description, and your story's JSON file. You can submit a workflow (also called a story) you’ve already built, or a new one. Your workflow should align with one of the following categories:

  • AI-powered workflows - how are you leveraging Tines AI capabilities to take your workflows to the next level?

  • Build interactive apps - Show us how you provide interactive user experiences with Tines pages and actions.

  • Tines fundamentals - When it comes to the basics of building in Tines, how are you converting manual tasks into powerful automated workflows?

  • Tines for fun - The possibilities of building with Tines are endless, including discovering workflows for the spirit of fun, entertainment, or convenience.

We encourage you to submit your most impressive and impactful workflows, and you can enter as many as you’d like!

YDWWT tips and tricks

Stories must be clear and able to run for our testing process. Keep the following in mind when you choose the story you want to submit:

DO

  • Include a story name and full description

  • List any requirements for using the story (i.e. credentials, tools)

  • Submit a story that others can benefit from

DON'T

  • Have less than 5 actions in your workflow

  • Include any proprietary or personal information

  • Choose a story that’s hard for others to understand or use

All submissions will be vetted and added to our Community Library under the YDWWT tag. This means Tines and other builders have permission to import your pre-built workflow to their tenant and use it as inspiration for their own.

It might help to think about how the community can benefit from your workflow! For example, last year’s grand prize winner was Michael Fischler from Roblox with his story Analyze SMS phishing with the AI action. With the AI action, Michael utilized descriptive AI prompts to analyze reports of SMS phishing attempts and build a case with Jira for further investigation. We appreciated how he emphasized the importance of a culture of cybersecurity by making it easy for employees to be vigilant and reinforce security-conscious decision-making.

Analyze SMS phishing with the AI action

From the submitter: Employees can use this simple form to upload a screenshot of a suspicious text message. We use Claude Sonnet multi-modal input to analyze the content, extract IOCs, and provide an initial triage to the employee. A case is created for the SOC, and escalated if multiple text messages are reported with matching numbers or URLs. We utilize prompt engineering from the paper "Principled Instructions Are All You Need", to improve AI output.

All builders who submit a story will receive a link to redeem a special YDWWT gift - a pair of Tines socks that will not only keep you warm but make a statement around the office!

Category winners will receive a collection of curated Tines swag - ones to make your fellow builders jealous.

And finally, the winning submission will be crowned “Grand Champion” and receive an exclusive invitation to a 2025 Tines customer trip, in addition to the above prizes.
