As Head of Partnerships at Tines, Charlie Ardagh is responsible for building strong, strategic relationships with technology companies that align with our platform and mission, and developing mutually beneficial business opportunities that drive new growth. Here, Charlie tells us more about working with some of our current partners, including Snowflake, Guidepoint, Lacework, and AWS, and what inspired him to join Tines.
Can you tell us a little more about yourself?
I joined Tines in August 2021. Before that, I led the EMEA Business Development team at Facebook for three years. My role there was to run the team that designed and negotiated “first of their kind” deals with net new Partners to accelerate growth across Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger. Before working in BD, I led the Facebook Partnerships team, a multi-billion dollar revenue-generating Partner ecosystem. While these were truly exciting roles, my heart is in startups, and I was previously a founder in a number of ventures within the telecoms and software category. I am a Dublin, Ireland native and live here with my wife and two young daughters.
What do you do at Tines?
I lead the Partnerships team. We are working with some of the world’s leading technology companies where Tines combines to offer customers a truly “better together” alternative to some of the traditional security solutions. We also work with resellers who have over the years become the most trusted advisors when it comes to all things security for the world’s leading companies; they trust Tines to be part of their solutions. Our team is the point of contact for our partners. We architect and implement growth strategies to help our partners get the most from working with Tines and ensure their customers are experiencing the better together benefits of our joint solutions.
What’s the coolest thing you’ve worked on to date?
At Tines, we are disrupting an industry by putting the power of automation into the hands of non-developers; anyone can automate anything so long as it has an API. I’ve only once experienced such a shift from old, slow, expensive solutions from the industry incumbents to new best-of-breed technology - that was when I was building broadband networks when the phone companies were still ripping people off with dial-up Internet access. There is a total transformation happening, and automation is at the core. Riding this wave of change is super cool to me.
Who or what has influenced you most when it comes to how you approach your work?
My experience working with people over 20+ years has taught me that it’s not what you know today that’s most important, but how quickly you can learn and be open to new ways of doing things, new knowledge, and the ability to embrace change.
What do you like to do outside of work?
Cooking, walking, hanging out with my friends and family.
