You trust us with your most important workflows, and we take that trust seriously. In developing AI in Tines, we’ve been laser-focused on helping users leverage AI without exposing their organizations to security and privacy risks.
But we also spoke with so many teams struggling to fully realize AI's potential impact. They wanted AI to do more, while still preserving those all-important security and privacy guardrails.
Our customers were interested in two things:
Enriching the answers that AI provides with real-time proprietary data
Giving AI permission to take approved action on their behalf
Today, we’re excited to share a new AI innovation from Tines that allows users to do both.
What is Workbench?
Workbench is an AI chat interface that empowers you to incorporate data from across your stack and take action from a single place.
Instead of switching contexts, you can open up Workbench when investigating an incident to not only manage a case, but also gather additional information and take action based on the context from other platforms.
By helping teams work and respond faster, Workbench helps increase operational efficiency, improve the interoperability of your tech stack, mitigate risk faster, and strengthen compliance.
Secure and private by design
As our Co-founder and CEO, Eoin Hinchy likes to say, “With great power comes great responsibility.” Workbench comes with enterprise-grade controls out of the box for all tenants. This way, you’re in control of what data or actions a user can take from Workbench – which is especially important when implementing AI into your security strategy.
Workbench doesn’t build, run, or monitor anything without your authorized users instructing it to do so.
Powered by Tines workflows
Workbench is only possible because of the robust foundations of Tines, our intuitive workflow automation and orchestration platform. Combining AI chat with Tines workflows, Workbench allows you to access your data and take action in real-time, without compromising security or privacy.
Workbench is an extension of your Storyboard. It creates a singular view to run and monitor in the context of real-time scenarios or events without switching contexts between applications.
Your workflows are the skills that power Workbench. After all, you know best what steps should be taken, where human intervention is needed, and how it fits into your broader processes.
With this in mind, your existing stories and integrations (action templates) are available immediately to securely connect Workbench to your tools and workflows. With these starting points, you can allow Workbench to do things like send a message in Slack, look up an employee in your HRIS, create a ticket in Jira, get detections in CrowdStrike Falcon, or lock down a device in Jamf.

The same robust foundations, a new way to use Tines
We built Workbench on the same foundations as our broader Tines platform.
Customized workflows, built by you and powered by Tines. Not another black box agenetic offering. You’re in the driver’s seat, you determine what Workbench can and cannot do within your tenant.
Connect and interact with your proprietary data in real time. As always, you can integrate any product or system with Tines, then determine how that data is shared.
Enterprise-grade controls out of the box. Grant access to collaborators securely using role-based action controls, audit logs, and confirmation prompts at every interaction.
Private and secure by design. Like all AI-powered features in Tines, there’s no training or logging, and your data never leaves the stack or travels the internet.

For security teams and beyond
Your security team can use Workbench to enrich users and asset information, investigate EDR alerts, analyze and block IPs, domains, and URLs, perform fraud analysis, and running real-time response and forensic investigations.
But, just like Tines workflows, Workbench can help any team from IT to HR, to business operations, product, and engineering.
A unified copilot? Maybe! We’ll leave that to the analysts to decide.
Free to all editions
AI has the potential to change the way everyone works. That’s why we’ve made Workbench available to all Tines users. Workbench is available for US-hosted tenants now and is being actively rolled out across EU tenants from September 12, 2024. Learn more about the availability in this article.
