Earlier this year, we introduced the advanced certification within Tines University, a new way for our users to deepen their understanding of the platform and build more effective workflows. And I’m thrilled to report that user feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.
Over 100 users have already completed the new advanced certification, raising the total number of Tines-certified users to over 500. Those who completed the free, self-paced courses praised the program for enhancing their problem-solving skills and empowering them to build more impactful workflows.
For practitioners, the core and advanced certifications provide a great opportunity to elevate their automation skills on any platform, grow their impact at work, and invest in their career growth. For leaders and managers, the certifications are ideal to include in growth and development plans, as they benefit anyone who could leverage automation to solve problems or free up time for more strategic work.
We want everybody on our team to be Tines certified.

User feedback on the advanced certification
Users who completed the advanced certification found the content challenging yet rewarding, pushing them to tackle problems in new and innovative ways.
“This certification has been an incredibly enriching experience, allowing me to take my Tines skills to the next level,” says Daniel Díez, Senior Security Engineer at Auctane. “Throughout the program, I've delved into key aspects of the platform, from identifying and solving problems in my stories to translating data to and from Tines.”
I've learned to build shorter, more efficient stories, which will undoubtedly streamline my automation workflows.

Here are a couple more things that advanced-certified builders said about the new program:
“This course provided some fantastic information on how to design stories more efficiently.” - Taylor Rainwater, Security Operations Administrator, Fortune Brands Innovations
“The material was really good. It definitely addresses some good core functions that harness the power to reduce story overload in terms of number of actions.” - Jason Brault, Senior Incident Response Engineer, Snowflake
“This challenged me heavily! I learned about a bunch of unique functions that I was not aware of before.” - Ryan Goodman, Security Engineer, Drata
What to expect from the advanced certification
The advanced certification was designed to provide Tines builders with a set of challenges that will level up their automation skills. Participants learn how to troubleshoot their workflows, build more efficiently, and translate data into and out of Tines.
As with the core certification, participants are prompted with a variety of content to help them dive into the intricacies of how the platform works. They then get the chance to showcase what they’ve learned in hands-on exams.
For example, builders can learn about the value of troubleshooting and how best to handle different errors you would potentially encounter in your workflows. The Troubleshooting section covers an array of topics from understanding what caused an infinite loop, investigating issues with naming conventions, and more.
It’s the natural next step after the core certification, which provides beginners with the foundational knowledge to start building in Tines. This certification also proves useful for teams who are exploring Tines as a solution and comparing it with other platforms.
Here’s a breakdown of what builders can expect from the core and advanced certification programs:
[Resources like the Tines certifications] are about teaching others to fish, so to speak, so they can also eliminate the burden of manual, repetitive tasks that prevent them from focusing on more important, long-term operational improvements.
